This was a complete failure. My first try was with alcohol re-inker and a stencil. Apparently my glue was allergic to the alcohol ink and developed huge blisters. My 2nd attempt was to drizzle Glossy accents mixed with green alcohol re-inker. A total mess and my hand turned green - looks like I'm turning into the hulk! 3rd time never fails - WRONG! I mixed StazOn gold re-inker with glue with the intent of drizzling it over leaves. It ran all over the leaf, covering most of it. The leaf was die cut from white CS. Since it insisted on covering the whole leaf, I had no choice but to let it. The gold turned a dark orange! Another kind of allergy? I decided to let it dry and use it anyway. It took 5 hours to dry! Once it was dry, I realized I could have had the same effect by sponging gold and covering with Glossy Accents - and it probably would have been the gold color I wanted! It's a total technique failure, but the card is passable.

Awwww, I spent the morning frustrated with about 6 failed attempts at the layered batik technique posted. I gave up. Kudos to you for continuing to try and your card looks great even if the leaf isn't gold!

I think this turned out great!! Your background paper looks like it was made with alcohol inks sponged on and looks very pretty. I think your leaf looks lovely too. Good for you for sticking with it, your persistence has paid off.

I actually think this looks totally fabulous. The leaf is very realistic and the gold veins are perfect. You need to do a tutorial on this. Love the result. Reminds me of Fall which is calling my name or vice versa. Hugz!
