This card came about when I was asked by members of my church to make a card for a local contractor who did an outstanding job remodeling our church kitchen.
I knew exactly the kind of card I wanted make because I had saved a sample from Pinterest. It was a Totally Tool Box card made by Tami White, a SU demo, in 2010. ( She said that the original was designed by Lynn Wilcox for a shoe box swap.) Here is a link to Tami's card: http://stampwithtami.com/?s=tool+box+card
I needed a larger format card than a standard A2, so I went with a size that fit an envelope I had...ha, what a way to decide on a size, right?! The card base is a full sheet of cs folded horizontally to yield a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" card. Everything about this card was done on the fly, with a by-guess-and-by-gosh method of construction. I decided on the card base by cutting off a top corner and repeating the cut on the other size, very high tech way to make a tool box! The wood grain dsp was cut slightly smaller than the outside dimensions, as you can see.
The most fabulous thing about this card was that it was an excuse to order the new Tool Time die set from Die-Namics. It is an AWESOME die set! The tool dies are larger than any others that I have seen, in addition they are multi-piece dies. The hammer has 3 dies, the saw has 2, the screwdriver has 2 and the wrench has 2. There are also hanger dies so that you can attach them to a pegboard die cut. OH MY GOSH, they are cute beyond words!
This was so much fun to make. I was able to be a paper-carpenter, creating this tool box from scratch with sheets of paper and scraps of wood and embellies. And I got to play with new dies! It doesn't get better than that in the world of a stamper.
Hope you enjoyed looking at my paper tool box - I know I enjoyed having you stopping by for a peek. Thank you!

Susy, this is a super cool, masculine card! The tools are fantastic - love the red on them. The tool box is genius and the cross to signify the church is perfect. Pinned and fav'd.
