I made this card about 5 weeks ago, got up in the middle of the night before a bridal shower for a dear friend's youngest daughter, Jen who is also a dear friend. I am so excited for Jen, and it will be a thrill to attend her wedding in about 2 weeks! I couldn't sleep, so I decided to try and put together a simple card for the shower...
On the inside of the card, I took a piece of DP from the Floral Keys collection and placed it at the bottom, first distressing the edges of the card base with ink. Then did the same on the DP. I used Art Institue dries clear glue (and metal tip) and added some Autumn Leaves transparent glitter on the roses for interest. I cut out a tag from the paper collection, and then added another flower in one corner. On top of the strip of DP, I added a heart die-cut that I had colored then took a Sakura clear glitter pen and added some sparkle before covering with glossy accents.
I love to decorate envelopes if I can, to me it makes more of a card set, more personalized. I started by dry-embossing the rectangular envelope flap with a damask embossing folder, then decided to try coloring it with the same ink via daubers. it turned out OK for a first try. On that envelope back, I added a flourish from the die cuts that was colored and paint crackle was added, I put the oval sentiment on 3D dimensionals.
I must apologize for the quality of these photos, these were taken on a dull day and I was in a hurry and I know the quality is just not what it should be--sorry.
Thank you so much for checking out my card! Your comments absolutely make my day and I learn from them--thanks so much for leaving them.
