I made this card for my Aunt Joan, a lady who is EXTREMELY dear to me. She's always been a wonderful aunt, and as I've grown up she has become really more like a sister as well as a best friend. I LOVE spending time with her, and feel extremely blessed to have her as well as another wonderful aunt (also like a sister to me and a best friend) in my life. Am I not blessed!!!!!
My Aunt Joan introduced me to stamping, then I attended a SU party--but it was Joan who really got me hooked onto stamping and card-making. I've never made a card for her, and it's definitely a little intimidating to make a card for a card-maker. But no one will be kinder about the flaws, and I know she will appreciate the love I have put into this card when it arrives (hopefully it will arrive tomorrow or Tuesday depending on our postal service here in Canada... ). It's also a bit late, but I know she will forgive that too, after all she's just a wonderful lady!
I used mainly Heartfelt Creations product when making this card. I am absolutely hooked when it comes to everything HC!!!! I took a couple of ideas from a HC card kit and then kept going with my own ideas. The 6" square panel is from the Floral Keys paper collection, as is the "Birthday Wishes" ticket tag. I stamped various images from the Burnished Keys stamp set then cut them with the matching die set--I love that you stamp a whole page of images, then cut the whole page of dies out with one pass on my Cuttlebug, which is 17 pieces all at once!!! Then I colored the images with the red and green brilliance inks using daubers. I added a crackle finish to the keyhole image in the center of this card. As well, I cut out various flowers and leaves using the Floral Keys paper collection as well as my own DP stash, then used 3D Stemple paints to color them--oh my, I LOVE that paint, so shimmery!!! Then I used a variety of textures on the flowers. Some have glitter on the edges of the petals. Others are then topped with either crackle or clear epoxy finish with or without the glitter. Hopefully that adds some textural interest. I used a fine glue pen to highlight some decorative images in the corners of the patterned paper on the base, then added lichen glitter. I also used some walnut 3D Stemple paint around the edges of the card to give a bit of a distressed feel, not sure yet if I like that or not or if I'd do that again. You know how it is--you decide to try something and it sometimes is a good thing, other times you wish you'd left it alone. For me, the jury is still out here!!!
I glued the flowers and leaves using Crafter's Pick Ultimate glue--I REALLY like this glue, it's relatively new to me. It dries clear, and so far it seems to really attach well, it's a thicker glue, not one I'd use for fine details, I used a Quickie glue pen for those...
Thank you so much for checking out my card. I really appreciate your comments--I learn from them, and they absolutely make my day when you leave them.

OH this is GORGEOUS! I love the Crafters Pick glue as well. It is my go-to glue for flowers because it dries quickly and FIRMLY. Your aunt will LOVE this as it has so many interesting elements to it. It is so hard to catch the true beauty of glitter in a photograph so I can only imagine how STUNNING this is IRL! I love a square card (although they are more expensive to mail) as you have so much more room to play. I love the scalloped frame around your main focal point. That key whole design ROCKS! Your aunt will gaze upon this for HOURS!!! Great job...Pinned and faved!

Oh, my gosh! This is a work of art! Amazing textures, details, bling, the list could go on. No need for you to feel intimidated with your card-making! Your Aunt Joan will love this. Thanks for your kind (and so specific) comments on my card. Your words are very appreciated!
I've looked and drooled at your card...hopefully, it is not soaking wet, LOL! I've looked at and drooled at Heartfelt Creations products also - they are on my wish list! Your card will be treasured by your aunt for years to come, she is also blessed to have you!
What a labor of love! I rarely ever buy pre-made flowers because I prefer to make my own like you've done here. They are exquisite with all the sparkle and finishes you added. Bet your aunt was thrilled with this treasure. :-)
