I have been wanting to try this technique that Laura Bassen demonstrated for a long time and finally got to it - using a stencil and blending to create lighter and darker areas. I still need practice, but it was fun. Made my balloon stencils from Simon Says balloon dies and used my blending tool with distress inks, masking as I went along. Used the curly lines from handwritten borders (had to mask as I went with these also) to make the balloon strings, and then added the banner.

Those balloons look VERY cool! I think I need to try this technique, as well! Thanks for flying high with me this week!

You did a super job with the coloring - and I like the realistic effect of a portion of the red balloon showing through the blue! It's very eye-catching, but soft at the same time. Love the colors chosen.
