I call these "journey" cards for a good reason. If I were to drive from southern Calif. ( where I live) to northern California, I would go by way of New York and Chicago. Getting from point A to point B involves a lot of detours when I make a card. I started with gelatoes because they were the easiest thing to get out of the closet where I store craft stuff. I rarely use them and really need to watch some tutorials. Next I sponged distress inks through stencils. This flower stamp usually saves the day when things just aren't coming together. My stazOn black ink must need to be reinked so my flowers did not ink well. I also had blotches of black ink in the wrong places. I had to give my flowers a bad case of "measels" to cover the ink smears and I went over the outlines of the flowers with gel pens. Finally I took some boring white string from my DH's work bench...."what to do with it?" I ran it over the distress ink pads and created an amazing rainbow affect on my fingers. (My 18 year old is getting a special recognition award tonight at a ceremony and his mom is going to look like a freak). So there you have it ...colors for the CC482 and string for the WT483. I absolutely love everything about this card, especially the rainbow twine. Your collage effect works perfectly. You could adapt my favorite sig line from "Yes, I know I have glitter on my face," to "Yes, I know I have rainbow-colored ink on my fingers." Or "Ink on my fingers and a smile on my face." Whatever, it's a great card!

This is SO much fun!!! Design Memory Craft has a bunch of tutorials on gelatos on YouTube - you should definitely watch them, because if you can create this gorgeous thing with a medium you don't know how to use, I can only imagine what will happen if you get training on them. I will be stalking your gallery to see them b/c gelatos are my FAV! Thanks for swinging in the hammock with me this week!

This is gorgeous and fun!!! I don't use my gelatos much either. I remember seeing some really cool cards with them, but then I forgot how to really use them. Time to watch some tutorials. :>)
