When I read Anna's Some Like it Hot MixAbility challenge, I immediately wondered if shrink plastic counted as a heat-reactive medium (to me it's more of a surface ~ heat-reactive, no doubt about that!). To stay on the safe side, I embossed it as I shrank it, which is something I've never tried before. It turned out well, but because I also pressed the shrunk plastic flat, it squished a little of the stamping. Still, you can see the effect of it!
I started this card with my heat element, cutting the tailor's dummy from clear shrink plastic, stamping with Versamark and sprinkling with gold EP.
Then I decided to make a tag to put it on; wrinkle free distress, stamped over that with Linen in Tea Dye, embossed with Spots and Dots, swiped with Old Paper to highlight the embossing, sponged the edges with black, stitched with no thread in the machine, and although it's hard to see I added some gesso painted over drywall mesh.
For the card base, I sponged the edges of my paper with black and stitched with a yellow thread. My flowers are actually cut from an old dress-making pattern, and I used diecuts from my scrap-box to accent them, toning down the green a little with white pen.
Looking in my bag of fibres I found something that was a great match for the paper colour.
Yesterday's Swing in the Hammock helped me out when I was trying to figure how on earth to add a sentiment! I cut the thread spool from the Sewing Room die, stamped the sentiment and added some twine.
I finished it off with a few sequins and pearls.
If only my dummy looked this pretty! Instead, it wears a lovely black wool coat made from a Vintage Vogue pattern. For today's F4A challenge That Thing You Do, out of all the many interests I could have picked, I have obviously represented sewing here .

Sabrina, you have been making the most amazing cards. I am tired just reading about all the steps. Cooking, sewing and all you do for SCS you must never sleep. This is just adorable and one of the most creative cards I have seen lately.

I love the effect you got with the shrink plastic!! This card has a lot going on in it, and I took time to look at all of it.....the spool was a fab way to add the twine!

Very pretty. I love the technique used for the gold dress form, and your bg is so pretty in the pale colors. you have represented the sewing talent very well. I like to sew sometimes, but I'm not very good at it. I love everything about your card, I may case it for my sister's b-day card, if that's O.K. Wonderful card. tfs.
