Hi Everyone!! Had time to make a couple of cards today - this one is for this week's Queen - Nancy aka stitz2003, and Saturday's IC Challenge - to find inspiration from the Bassett Furniture website.
First, Nancy - you are such a talented crafter!! Your cards took my breath away - one after the other. I love your style and am grateful for all the inspiration I felt visiting your gallery. Today I needed a Father's Day card so was drawn to this amazing beauty: { NancyÂ’s gorgeous Leafy Thanks }
I started this card by inking up a Brick embossing folder and running it through the Big Shot, attempting to get a background similar to Nancy's. then I reached into my bin of Leafy Dies and pulled out the one Nancy used, along with several others. Once I got started I just couldn't stop LOL!!!
I also took inspiration from the Bassett website and specifically from this Wall Art: { Bassett Cityscapes Art }
My card background colors mimic the Cityscapes art - I used the direct-to-paper technique striping the dark borders, and used White Acrylic Paint in the middle to get something close to the painting. Of course by the time all the florals were in place it's difficult to see all the 'painting' details!! The Happy Father's Day tag was stamped onto a scrap that I'd used for testing the Acrylic paints onto - I like the rustic look so ended up using it!!
This card is for a very special Uncle - who once told me that he wouldn't mind if I gave him a card with flowers on it. So, once the leafy scene was complete I couldn't help but add some flowers!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Audrey
