This is my first attempt at gold leafing. Oy, what a mess. I used embossing paste in a Dreamweavers stencil and it oozed near the base of the leaf leaving a huge, fat stem. After that dried, I put the cleaned stencil back on and used a Pallette glue pad to add the glue. The glue was heated until sticky. Now comes the fun part- the leafing. Thankfully a friend who knows how to do this was here. The leafing was tapped onto the glue. Now the stem was even fatter. Rather than start all over I fussy cut it out and put it on a leftover gelli print. I know I will want to try this again for sure but may go back to Crafter's workshop stencils that don't get bent.
Thanks for looking.

This is gorgeous Nancy. Great job ... can't believe this is your first time using the gold leafing ... I'd say you're an expert! I have never tried it ... something else to add to my list. I have seen videos and know that it is messy ... the stuff is so lightweight that it flies everywhere. Not sure I'm ready to deal with the cleanup ... but boy, what a gorgeous effect it has.

So beautiful, Nancy! Try it with a double sided adhesive, it's easier! You can even emboss once it's on the adhesive, just use a piece of tissue or waxed paper over the top to protect your leafing. This also helps to hold the leafing in place. Whatever you decide, have fun!
