Today's Technique Challenge was to make a card that was Not Your Style. Although I keep trying, CAS is just NOT my style and I'm beginning to think that except for the days when I don't have an extra minute, but think I have to make a card anyway, I can make one of these. Well, that's how the thinking STARTS. I soon realize it takes longer for me to do one of these. This one had two tries. When I got "all finished" I wanted to run the whole thing through my Cuttlebug and add jewels and brads and probably some string and a piece of corrugated cardboard, but I resisted, rounded the corners for closure, and here it is. It's almost impossible for me to make one of these. But then if you could see the clutter in my craft room, you would probably figure out why.

Pretty card Carol and I totally understand your frustration! I, too, had to hold back on adding extra things to my card....it's just not right (ok it works for some but not us...lol). At least you know you are capable of making a CAS card..doesn't mean you have to

I totally understand the CAS thing! I struggle too but this is very pretty! Congratulations for going outside your comfort zone! One of the good things about CAS is how quickly they can be done!

Sounds like lots of gals have trouble with cas cards.......I really like the repeating sentiment; it shows just how appreciative you really are! Nicely done, Carol~

Ha, we are sisters from different mothers! Everything you said is the same for me...I tend to overdo because I think the card needs something else until it is overdone. My work area suffers the same affliction too. However, your card is simple and absolutely lovely. The height and beauty of the image works well with the triple stamped sentiment for balance.

Great CAS Carol! Adding to that ... it's it's a monochromatic, one layer only CAS. Way to go girl! I agree that sometimes CAS cards are the hardest to create. It's like decorating a room Shaker style, with minimal furnishings/accessories. To optimize the simple beauty and harmony, you have to place each element perfectly.
