...a Girl's Best Friend!
Thursday Linda (Holstein) hosted the WTUI challenge & she wanted us to have fun with our birth month. Mine is April. The birthstone is DIAMONDS!! The flower is a Daisy or Sweet Pea. I'm taking the Watercolor for CardMakers online class & trying to get caught up on 'homework'. I needed to get some more supplies - I really did!! The technique for this was masking & I'll have to admit it is one of my favorites. I stamped my image on the smooth side of 140# w/c paper from Pat Catan's. Then I 'painted' it with cheap ol Elmer's rubber cement glue. I never knew that when dry it would just rub off. While the rubber cement was on the daisy I did a simple, bright color wash with yellow & orange Crayola paint. When that was completely dry I rubbed off the cement & found that I didn't put as thick a layer on as I thought. I had to color my daisy with Spectrum Noir alcohol pens. My friend Nancy (stiz2003) convinced me it looked good colored, so I added the diamonds! The masking tape provided the white edge & I mounted it onto TT.
This was a fun challenge Linda & a fun technique to do.
Thanks for stopping by.
