I'm glad the acetate triggered a lightbulb, Sallie! I didn't see why paper wouldn't work, which was why I experimented so I could say - but it definitely wasn't as easy or satisfactory as acetate. And if an ace sponger like you found that so, then I know it's not just me!! I really like the way the diagonals of the sponging work with the open geometry of the stars.
