A thank-you card for some great birthday gifts - incorporating a couple on the card .
I tried using crayon resist to keep white trees and then sponge colour in, but it didn't work. So for this piece, I embossed the card and then just sponged colour on. It's stamped with Weathered. I added washi tape along the top and bottom. The owl might have been embossed (I mailed this yesterday after making it, and I can't remember!!), was certainly coloured with pencils and sponged over for the body. He's cut out and popped up, perched on a branch cut from an old packing box. I added the tag with a tiny bow of twine.

Sounds like you had a very happy birthday, belated birthday wishes Sabrina. This card is terrific, I love the background and how you inked everything. Love it all.

Great card, I absolutely love the owl, and the branch is great. You did an awesome job on the background!

Holy cow! You really do love birds. How many owls do you have anyway. This is a superb card. I think the tree trunks are great as a background and the earth tones too.
