Lydia's got us using crayons for this week's Mix-Ability challenge. I used a new-to-me PSX stamp and sentiments I designed for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps (Bridge of Hope set). There are several layers of watercolor here, using inks and markers.
When the coloring was done, I laid the panel over an embossing folder, and rubbed the white crayon over the top - it left a subtle waxy pattern, and lightened up the roses just a bit.
I stamped the hymn lyrics around the flowers and in between layers of watercolor - Memento ink has an interesting quality on watercolor paper when it gets wet that usually frustrates me but worked for me this time. I stamped with a light pink that greyed just a little as it soaked down in - kind of a whispery watermark effect.

The old-fashioned roses you used for this card are just stunning, and the way you watercolored around them showcases them in the best possible way. Love the sentiment as well. TYFS. Karen.

That is absolutely gorgeous!!! I can't really see the crayon but I can see how it would make the roses a bit lighter. The watermark Hymn is so cool!!! Gotta try that sometime with the light pink...did you stamp right over your image or mask it off? I love your sentiment and the roses are just so beautious!
