This card was made for the Ways To Use It Challenge, WT474 - Got Wind? (4/10/14). The challenge was to use the wind in some way. Yikes, that is not an easy challenge!
I'm hoping that I conveyed the sensation of wind with the banner trailing in back of Snoopy's plane. I tried to show that it was fluttering in the breeze by cranking it up with a stack of dimensionals in the center & curling the tail of the banner. The clouds are stacked in such a way as to show the air movement in the upper atmosphere....at least that was my intention! Like I said, wind is not an easy thing to convey with a few pieces of paper and some stamps.
I was asked to come up with a "cool" birthday card for our new pastor. He was a pilot in his younger years and still has a passion for airplanes. Hopefully this will bring a smile to his face when it is presented to him.
One of the real challenges for making this card was taking a photo! The card needed to be delivered to a friend asap so she could take it to a church meeting for people to sign. Wouldn't you know, right when I needed to take some photos the natural light went ucky in my photo shoot area (also known as my work table!). Tell me I'm not the only one who struggles with this. Please!
Thank you kindly for flying by to look at Snoopy!

Love your card and you certainly did create the illusion of wind! I've had the luxury of a biplane ride and YES it's windy for sure! Your pastor will love this. Brilliant idea using that banner and the way you formed it.
Thanks too, for the giggle on the photo shoot area! Yep, I always have to take a midday photo. After trying to balance a box on my tape gun which was stacked on top of something else, I just opted for the floor!

No, you're not the only one who struggles with good photos/lighting. Even when I make space to set up my studio and lights I don't feel the results are as consistent as they should be, sigh...
I love this, and since I've fussy cut that image more than once myself I know just how much work went into that. This looks like a perfect card for your new pastor, Susy. I love that sky paper.

LOL Susy sometimes it takes me longer to take a decent photo than it does to make the card!! Everything about your card is wonderful and you truly nailed the 'wind' theme.
