This will be quick, I am supposed to be doing billing which takes me all day but just had to play. When Curt walked in wearing this tiny pink outfit with the silver wings, I could not say no. hehe SO, here goes...
How appropriate that the flower for January was a carnation. I once worked in a greenhouse that grew carnations. Sure brought back memories.
Plus, there were three words that went with the flower...Fascination, Distinction, and Love. These pretty much fit Curt to a Tee!
I mean, he is one fascinating cow, very distinctive in his style in what ever he has on or is doing, plus he if full of Love.....card details....
Googled carnation clipart, saw this beauty and used it as a guide for my drawing.
Coloring was done with Polychromo pencils. Please don't ask me about these because I wouldn't know what to tell you other then I saw someone use these awhile back and just had to have them.
For the bg, I used pan pastels. I did stamp the checkered border and painted in the white squares with paint.
Before putting it on a black card, I saw this scrap of pallet paper that I had smooshed paint on and decided it looked pretty good behind my panel. Put this altogether. Done.
Well, must go stuff those envelopes! Hope whoever is tickled by my card feels the love that Curt will be bringing with him.....TFL :0)

Hey fellow January girl. Curt sure knows how to grow big carnations. (He looks disturbingly good in a dress, as well.) The palette paper was a great idea; it looks perfect behind the image.

How fun, Cathy! Curt does look lovely in his new outfit and love your carnation drawing. You do some of the most fun cards and how lucky someone is to get this one!

Oh my goodness I don't think I have ever seen Curt look more gorgeous. Just goes to show how great a fairy costume is on all shapes and sizes. Ah Cathy, you and Curt have me grinning from ear to ear. Everything about this makes me smile. All Teapotters will be hoping to receive this.

That piece of bg paper looks perfect. It's good to see curt again. Sometimes I make it here and sometimes Curt makes it here but I'm glad we're both here the same week so I can pass along a "hello". He looks quite special today and that carnation is perfect.

Cathy, your deviation from the billing gives us a fun glimpse of Curt!
Curt is so stylish, he could be featured on the front of a magazine! I love Curt dressed as a garden fairie and the beautiful carnation he is holding! Adorable!

Oh my - you put a huge smile on my face with this, Cathy. And just think - when you get your fantasy film Curt can have real fairy wings. (When I linked the site for you, I saw that they now do one colour in a super-sized roll big enough for "real" wings!!). He is a hoot dressed up in his carnation fairy outfit!! I see he's even got love in his eyes! I really like the checked panel, too.
AFAIK, Polychromos are pretty similar to Prismas.
