redi2stamp, Mary, is our guest hostess for the Teapotters' Tickle this week, and her Fantasy Fairy Tea Party challenge has us finding out the flower for our birth month, and making a card with that flower and a flower fairy too if we have one!
On the UK listing, Sweet Pea is the flower for April, but on the US list it's Peony, and since I have both a peony stamp and a peony die, I went with that ;-).
This is WAY too dimensional to post - sorry, ladies. It will go to my MIL, since Mother's Day here is this Sunday. I think the edges need a bit more defining but since DH is giving the card, he can have some input.
Stamped Script and the flowers on the base, covered with gesso and sponged with distress inks. Stamped and embossed the ODBD sentiment, edged the base with gold ink and gold EP.
The peony is a Susan Tierney-Cockburn die from Sizzix.
The dragonfly dates back to my very early card-making days, and is a peel-off sticker on acetate coloured with Sakura glaze pens and some glitter sprinkled over. I'm impressed I found it without spending more time than it would have taken me to stamp a new dragonfly and cut it out!
ETA - my MIL took a sneaky peek when DH delivered the card on Thursday, and rang me even before he was home. But she did get him to wrap it back up in tissue paper and put it back in the box so she can open it again on Sunday .

Lovely card and beautiful flower. The dragonfly is beautiful, too. I've been trying to use stuff in my stash and I know what you mean about it taking as much time to locate something as make something new.
