Here is my card for today's new MIX60: The Printed Word challenge from Anna. I loved this challenge so much. It made me realize how easy this would make all my cards were I color the image and then not know what to do with the background.
For this card I stamped my image and colored with Tombow markers. I masked the image and stamped the text background onto it. It was still a little too simple so I had the bright idea to have some fun with DIY washi tape. It had been forever since I had made some.
Anna has a great challenge this week. I hope you'll join in on the fun!
Stamps: Jar Bouquet and Dream Text and Say it Today (Stampendous)
Paper: White (Mohawk), Charcoal and Natural (Wausau)
Paper Size: A2 - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine, Tsukineko), Dual Brush Pen (Tombow)
Accessories: Blending Palette (Tombow), medical tape ($1 store - it isn't masking tape or fabric tape it's something in between and transparent), tracing paper for mask

I didn't read the words first and my first thought was WOW I can't believe you made your text look like tissue paper. but, this is so COOl that translucent look to the text and all the spring colors

This is beautiful. The coloring on the flowers is spot on and the mixed media bkg makes a perfect contrast with the flowers. I love the torn colored papers that coordinateveith the flower colors.
