This card was made for the Sketch Challenge SC479 (3/12/14). The layout for this sketch was the perfect inspiration for a card I needed to make for a quilting friend. It came together quite quickly once I chose a card base color to go with the fabric piece that I had in my "leftovers" drawer.
I had previously prepared the fabric scrap with Heat n' Bond on the back, so it was simple to iron onto a piece of black cs and trim afterwards. The embossed ruler strip was a portion of the design from a new-to-me embossing folder by Darice called Rulers. I swiped a white dye inkpad over top to highlight the images and lightly sponged the edges of the sentiment tag, as well. The primitive looking copper brad is one that I just got from dinglefoot.com (out of South Dakota). I was hoping that the over-sized heart paired with the smallish oval scallop would emphasize the heartfelt sentiment.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my quilt-y card!

Susy, what a gorgeous card! I love that you swiped the embossed ruler with the white ink! It helps it to show up. That is a very nice piece of material for your quilt! Great card! tfs

This is gorgeous. I love the quilt designs that you have brought together for this card. I have a few quilts, that my grandmother quilted, and my favorite one is a basket design, similar to the one in your beautiful card. I just love everything about this. Faved. tfs.
