This is one of my cards for day 1 of the Clean & Simple 3 Class - One Layer Cards.
The technique used for this card is faux metal. An area is embossed multiple times, and after the last time, a stamp is pressed into the just heated powder. It's a tedious technique (and messy), but the effect is pretty neat.
I followed the tutorial as closely as I could without having the exact stamps and inks used in the class. The end result is really cool one layer card, although a friend of mine said "why not just use a metal button and save yourself all of that embossing?" That made me laugh.
