The first Thursday of a new month means a new hostess over at CCEE Stampers, and our hostess with the mostest interesting challenges for March is Joanne.
First off, we learn that MichelangeloÂ’s birthday was March 6, 1475. Joanne wants us to honour this wonderful artist with our cards this week. Either have a sentiment that refers to ART in some way or have an image that shows an artistic tool (ex. paintbrush, pen, artist palette). LetÂ’s get our artsy vibes flowing.
This is one of the first stamps I ever bought - I was working in a company that imported and distributed fine art supplies at the time, and back in the mid to late nineties DH and I were making a delivery to a customer with a stand at a show. We saw a demo of heat embossing - and I came home with 3 stamps, some embossing pens, one ink pad and 3 colours of EP. I've passed on the other two stamps over the years, but have always held onto this one and it was perfect for Joanne's challenge.
I couldn't get the 7th arc of the rainbow into my design, so instead of indigo and violet I have some sparkly Stickles on my palette - we all need some sparkle in our life, after all.
Stamped the palette, masked it and misted the background with a homemade blue mister. Add the rainbow cut from white card and sponged. Trimmed it down so that I could fit the sentiment partly on the misted panel and partly on the base. Considered adding some black stitching or accents, and decided not to... Glossy Accents on the colours on the palette, (Stickles on white one).
Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, Dusty Concord, and Frayed Burlap.

Sabrina, even almost 6 years ago, this is still fresh and well...artistic! I loved reading about your dive into our world. It's been good for our spirits and others who have been blessed by the work of our hearts! This is a delightful card.
