We had a sad story this week about a Korean lady, Wha Ok Nam from Leesville LA. I hope our cards can bring some sunshine to her day. Fran aka Philsmom, has educated us with a lovely Korean poem about water, stone, bamboo, pine and the moon.
I checked out a few tutorials here at SCS about brayered skyÂ’s. Unfortunately my brayer had bits of molding paste stuck to it. Remember the hole in the wall incident; well I tried smoothing out the molding paste on the wall with my brayer and obviously I didnÂ’t clean it properly. Never mind, I moved on to Plan B.
Plan B was using good old distress ink sponging. I used a post-it-note mask for the moon and then sponged ink like a mad woman possessed. I added a few itty bitty spots of glitter to look like stars and some silver ink on the tree to look like frost. I didnÂ’t have any Scripture so I hope Thinking of You is ok.
It is good to be back, I was away with DH last week so I missed the New York teaparty, all the cards were terrific. I took a heap of little digi images away with me so I could fussy cut in preparation for future teaparties. I must have been in holiday mode because I amputated 8 arms, 5 legs and sadly two heads got chopped off at the neck. I personally did not suffer any injuriesÂ…yay!!
Being a good little crafter who never throws anything out, I collected all the amputated body parts and I made a tiny little box and labeled it accordingly. I am confident that I can reattach said body parts when I put them on cards.
Have a terrific week everyone and thank you for looking.

Beautiful card! Love the background colors and the little details of glitter for stars and silver for frost on the tree.

Susie, this card is beautiful! Your sky has all the moody qualities of a night in the bayou! Are those crickets and frogs I'm hearing? I love your choice of die cuts for the tree and greenery!

Absolutely stunning! I love using distress inks to create this kind of look, but your addition of the trees and bamboo give your card so much depth. Into my faves she goes!
Dr. Susie, amputated limbs reattached, lost your head because it wasn't attached? Call Dr. Susie! But I digress, this is spectacular. I love the sponging.
