Here is my card for the second challenge in the Clean and Simple Spring 2014 design team search. We were to use 2 or more colors found in a Design Seeds palette: http://design-seeds.com/index.php/ho...ry/puppy-tones.
I love making all-neutral cards, and chose the tones that looked like Crumb Cake and Baked Brown Sugar as my main tones for this. I happen to need a "thinking of you" card at the moment.
I masked a strip, and used daubers to add Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, and Baked Brown Sugar. I went over the masked strip with my "weeds" in Crumb Cake and craft white, then removed the mask and added the final Baked Brown Sugar weeds.
I originally wanted to do the sentiment in Early Espresso, but it turned out a little too dark against the softer colors.
This was also a lesson in patience. I kept getting smudges on the white part after I had the card nearly done, and couldn't figure out where they were coming from until I realized that ink had gotten on the plastic part of my paper trimmer, and was transferring onto the card when I went to cut it to the final size. I did this twice before I figured it out. D'oh!

A very pretty CAS card. I really like the colors you chose and the shadowed branches on the panel look great.

Beautiful. I usually have ink on my fingers that I thought I had wiped off, and darn there it is........a smudge! Don't you just hate when that happens?!!!

This is beautiful - very classy! I really love this technique, somehow mine always just looks weird when I try it. Glad you found the source of your smudge - a thing like that can drive you crazy!
