This is my card for the second challenge in the Spring design team search. We were to use at least two colors from a very challenging palette.
I made three different cards for this challenge; this was the first. The others may be considered more typically CAS, but this is the one I like best. Hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot!
I really didn't have much in the way of the colors we were to choose from, so I created my own designer paper. I had to mix paints to achieve even a close match, and used mostly my fingers and a used gift card to apply the paint to a piece of the same cs that I used for the base. Several layers, lots of sanding, some bubble wrap and it was done.
I stamped the flower image with VersaMark and heat embossed with white ep, the stamped it again with Colorbox Khaki. I reheated the ep to grab and set the ink. I added a little more paint to the area where I wanted the sentiment, and when it was dry, sanded it smooth and stamped the sentiment with Khaki. And because I couldn't resist, a light mist of shimmer spray
As always, thanks for looking!

Whoa!! If that paper were a DP I'd buy it in a heartbeat! What a gorgeous, soft and subtle background for the white, embossed dandelion. Jody, this is over the top gorgeous and right into favorites it goes!

It caught my eye because I love distressed cards but after reading your story about how you made it I have an even greater appreciation for it and your talent. I wish I was a recipient of this gorgeous one. Great job.
