So....much....fun! When I saw today's TLC I thought of these really pretty altered cards by Stephanie Ackerman I'd seen on Pinterest. I thought I could use the technique to make some hearts and then layer them onto the altered card bases. I took my playing cards and used Modpodge to glue some pieces of music sheets and dictionary pages onto them. I then sponged Soft Suede to give them an even more vintage look. Next step was to stencil or daub on the blue acrylic paint. I also smooshed a craft ink pad over a stencil on the far left one. I stamped in craft ink on the other two. I used the TLC air smash technique the best I could (I had a little trouble because I started with water based reinkers and tried to use photo paper-no go! Plan B-I smashed my glossy paper over the photo paper to pick up the ink and ended up laying it down a few times to get more color and used 3 big pieces of glossy so I've got MORE to play with later! I then stamped the hearts in Versamark and then embossed with Melon Mambo ep before fussy cutting and gluing to the base. My letters are accomplished by stamping the Alphabit solid stamp then embossing in black. I then punched out each letter with my 1/4" square punch. I highly suggest checking out Stephanie's blog if you'd like some Mixed Media inspiration! I can't wait to go back and check out more of her great work.

These are great, Gail! ( and yes, I have inky fingers and one palm. Don't ask...)
Love how you pretty much followed what Stephanie did but made it your own. Those little letters are the cutest!

These tags are so fantastic. Your hearts are incredible and the mix of elements all work so well together. I keep looking at them to notice the different details. So pretty.
