This is for two of the Mixability challenges. It is for today's challenge to have layers (mix53), and for a challenge Lydia posted a while ago to have a shiny and a rough texture (mix17). It is also for last week's mission to use warm colors (mix52) -- which I dearly LOVE.
I am creating a lunch bag mini book, and doing all of the challenges in it. This particular page is a background page -- I am not sure yet what I am going to add as the next layer.
The layers which already exist include: lunch bag itself. On the left side, I adhered a book page which was stenciled on with the gelli plate and my fave WARM color combo (pinks, oranges, yellows).
I also LAYERED some circles using a stencil. On top of that, I adhered a lacey heart -- this is from the SU! dsp pack a while ago -- and I cut it into the shape of a heart. On the right side, I LAYERED a sheet of deli paper that was all painty from a gelli plate play session a long time ago. I continued the circle and heart theme across the spread. I also layered with a new stencil and some paint, from a kit I just received from Christy Tomlinson.
This is a mix of SMOOTH AND ROUGH (YIN / YANG 2) -- the final layer you see is a layer of distressed glitter from Ranger. The glitter part is the rough part and the smooth part is the heart, which I left unglittered. I am thinking to add some crystal effects and diamonds -- but I haven't done that yet.
In the bottom right corner, you see an orange stripe -- this is a piece of leftover "undefined" (carving) matter which I decided to use as a HAND MADE STAMP. That was the prompt from Monday's TLC challenge and itm otivated me to make that stamp -- and I also carved a heart that I used on a different page. Even though I lurk (and often participate) in the challenges daily -- I don't always have time to upload. Even now I should be showering so I can leave at 7:30 :O
The lunch bag on the left side is kraft colored, and the one on the right is white. I have more pages and inserts that I will upload over time.
This view shows the whole 2-page spread (as it exists so far, as a background).
Thanks for looking. Have a rockin' day!

What an amazing multi-challenge piece of work. I love all the different textures you've used. It must be a challenge in its own right incorporating some other challenges into a lunchbag album, but it's going to be a work of art to treasure when you're done.

What a cool mini-book I love your layers. The lunch bag is a great idea and your smooth and rough textures are great.

What a fun way to meet the challenges! I've always wanted to try a lunch bag book (I've made books from CD mailers using criss cross cards and that was fun!) you've inspired me to check out the process and maybe finally give it a try!
