I just had time to grab a quick photo of this before DH headed out to deliver it, along with a handknit scarf, to the daughter of a friend of ours - she plays the violin. I'm never sure if this is a cello or a violin, so to me it does duty for either!!
The base was an unfinished piece when I tried out the recent layered gesso background tutorial. I got as far as the gesso and stamping on it and adding cream acrylic, but then I stamped too many treble clefs on it for the card I wanted to make, so I never went any further. But, with some gold EP round the edges, it made a great musical base for this. Since my image panel had some bright colours on it I picked them up by adding a little stenciling to the base too.
Image stamped on watercolour paper with Versamark black and coloured with pencils, then sponged. I added Stickles to the flowers and Glossy Accents to the instruments. It's layered on black with distressed edges and popped up on foam.
Sentiment stamped, trimmed, cut into a banner shape, sponged, and finished off with a black pen and a gold gel pen.
