Sometimes things just work out. I have a lot of scraps of rubber from SU unmounted stamp sets. I have seen this fauve mosaic technique and decided to try it yesterday. What a surprise when I saw that the TLC challenge was to make your own stamp. Even though it has some green in it, it still feels warm, so I also entered it for the MIX52 and WT463 which were to use warm colors. Stamped the sunflower a few times on white cardstock and colored with prisma pencils and gamisol. Glued scrap pieces of rubber stamps to an acrylic block - remember that the cracks between the rubber are what shows. Embosses with clear embossing powder then rubed black ink over everything. Wiped the black ink off where my image was protected by clear embossing powder. Added the layers of coordinating paper, the bow, pin and tag.

This is gorgeous!!! I love the bright colors that you have been using. It feels so good to see them. They give me energy I haven't been having. Anyway, I'm not exactly sure how you got your effects, but my stamp didn't turn out nearly as well as yours. I tried carving in rubber with a knife. It didn't show up well.

Gingham and sunflowers seem perfected suited for each other. Love this technique you used as well.

That was an option I meant to mention - I'm glad you thought of it anyway. I have a mosaic stamp on my desk, it's a fun technique. I used some scrap rubber pieces too when a " pink camo" challenge for HYCCT last year had me stymied.
I particularly like the warm colour of your main sunflower - especially heart-warming on a cold wet evening.

Oh my goodness, your faux mosaic is awesome. I love what you did and how you did (if I understand correctly). The colors are super.
