Sabrina has posted the following poem to be used for inspiration:
Ars Poetica by Archibald MacLeish
A poem should be palpable and mute
As a globed fruit,
Dumb
As old medallions to the thumb,
Silent as the sleeve-worn stone
Of casement ledges where the moss has grown--
A poem should be wordless
As the flight of birds.
A poem should be motionless in time
as the moon climbs,
Leaving as the moon releases
Twig by twig the night-entangled trees.
Leaving, as the moon behind the winter leaves,
Memory by memory the mind --
A poem should be motionless in time
As the moon climbs.
A poem shuld be equal to:
Not true.
For all the history of grief
An empty doorway and a maple leaf.
For love
The leaning grasses and two lights above the sea--
A poem should not mean
But
Be inspired by any of the imagery in this-the moon, leaves, birds, lights abut the sea, open doorway, etc.
I chose the flight of birds, the sea, the moon, the tree and I tried to put some moss on my stones, but it's not showing up that well.
Anyway, it really was a challenge to myself to see how much I could incorporate into my card....hope you like it.

What an interesting challenge, and I think that you have portrayed the poem to a tee with this beauty. Love the piercing that you have added also... TFS

I absolutely love that you set your tree by the sea, Vicky, because this reminds me so much of Greece where the trees grow right down in the sand in some parts. I also love our track of light across the water - you really rocked this.
