I NEVER look in the gallery before I make my card as it does me in, but today all I could see was a bullfrog with big round eyes, so I had to look. It was bad. All the ideas I had rolling around in my head were already there and I only looked at a couple rows. So I backed out and did my own thing. (again)
The picture is New York City from a Vintage Encyclopedia - copied and cut out. I stamped & embossed Hampton Arts Numbers, cut out 2014 and glued it to the punched circles. The black corner is from "the rest of the black" leftover from punching and I embossed the sentiment on it. And well, I just couldn't resiste the flower. It's a Memory Box Die. I like it. How about you?

Your instincts took you in the right direction today..I love that vintage city image and your neutral color scheme is excellent. The horizontal layout is wonderful for this....and the flower, well it was made to go right there...you knew that! ;) Happy New Year my friend!

Carol, your card is wonderful. I'm with you about not looking at a gallery until I have uploaded.....if there is a similar card there, I just chalk it up to "great minds think alike." : ) That being said, I love the vintage collage card that you created AFTER seeing the gallery. Love how you did your vintage numerals as well to go with the age of old New York. Happy New Year to you.

This was a wonderful way to use the sketch! I love that city scene! And I am with you, I do not look at other people's work-when I go to craft that is all that is in my head then!
