Great choice of colors this week, Mary! I added your dessert option also...celebrating the new year 2014.
And for this weeks tea potter party...we are exchanging cards with each other! The spotlight is resolutions...my resolution this year is to open wide as many doors as I am presented.
I love my studio...it never fails to wrap me in all the goodness and creativity that living artfully brings...I hope you feel the same way when you open the doors to yours. Tonight, I walked down thinking about what to do with Mary's wonderful festive colors, Black, Silver, and White. My first thought was to dress one of my elegant ladies in brocade...and then it happened...I opened the doors to the studio and the first thing I saw was the sentiment stamp 'There are DOORWAYS I haven't opened"...what an opening for the new year!
I stamped the Craftsman style door on black cs, embossing with clear ep. Hand cut all the windows, placed the sentiment in the middle and then added vellum around all the tiny window openings. The #14 is one of Tim Holtz's enamel do-dads. And I couldn't resist the funky arm pointing the way into the new year. Add a bit of silver scrap and tinsel and I am ready!!!
How about you...what new doors will open for you, new paths, new hills to climb, new friends to bring along. Here's wishing every health and happiness to you...

Such a fabulous card for the occasion as we close the door on this year and open the one for 2014. The pointing arm is the perfect addition! Love your card!

Your write-up is soooo you, Susan! Always the deep thinker and philosopher....optimism at its best! Your card is so well-thought out and so well described that one cannot help but be affected by your words of wisdom. Love your card with all it's "doors to open to discovery". I wish you a very Happy New Year, my friend...health, wealth and most of all happiness! Keep those creative juices flowing....we need your wisdom!

Love your Craftsman door Susan! As already said by others your door is a wonderful metaphor for the coming New Year and all the changes and chances it will present. Best wishes to you for the coming year. May it be a healthy one!
