I have to share this sweet story...
My aunt is 87 and suffering from Alzheimers. My uncle who is 85 does much of her care. He is often sad and overwhelmed and I try to do what I can. Today I went to sit with her while he went to a doctor's appt. Knowing she would sleep most of the time I took some stamped images to watercolor while there.
When he got home I had just finished coloring the image in the other card I am uploading and I showed it to him. He seemed interested so I asked if he would like to color one. I showed him how to use the aquapainter with marker ink scribbled on a CD. He colored this image and seemed to really enjoy doing it. I can't tell you how happy it made me! I came home and stamped the BG to make it into this card. I will take it to him tomorrow. He's never done any watercoloring before - just a little bit of tole painting. I think he did such a great job! I'm super proud! Thanks for looking!

Wow! He did a fabulous job with his watercolor! And how sweet of you to make it into a card for him. I'm sure he will be thrilled with it. Maybe he needs to start stamping - he certainly has talent for coloring! :)

Jami, he did a terrific job watercoloring. And what a wonderful, sweet gesture you did by asking if he wanted to watercolor. That had to really help him get his mind off of other things. Maybe you could do this with him once a week or so.

Well...you got me with this story. I'm typing this with tears running down my cheek. I've lost both of my parent (my mom died from strokes and suffered from stroke related dementia) and I just would love to hug your uncle as his life taking care of his wife must be hard. What a treat for him to get to do something relaxing. What a wonderful niece you are to go and give him assistance with your aunt. No one knows until they have been in those shoes how much you appreciate help from others. I already knew you wre a special girl from all the wonderful things you do on this site. Now I have a much sweeter picture of you. Your uncle did a wonderful job on this painting.

Oh Jami, how precious is your uncle! Thank you so much for sharing him with us and his amazing talent too! I would love to see his sweet face when he sees this beautiful card. You both are extremely talented! Big hugs to you both - and to your precious aunt too!
