WT454 this week was to use an emboss resist technique. I chose the magic snowflake technique. However, it did not work the way the instructions showed. We were to heat emboss the design in white and then apply alcohol inks over top and then heat again. The design was supposed to pop out again, but it didn't so I covered the glossy cardstock with a piece of white cs (I should have used glossy, but I didn't) heated my craft iron to medium and ironed over the white cs. This lifted the embossing powder off the stamped panel and transferred it to the other white paper. In doing so, it also took the alcohol ink colours with it. I sponged blues and greens around the design.. There was a little orange blotching in the upper right hand corner and I decided to cover it with a few birds, but that did not look good at all, so I punched a few little butterflies and added some stickles to them.

Ah - so you've got something a bit like the batik technique going on here, then, Ina ;-). Its' perfect for those silhouetted flowers, and the sparkle butterflies look sweet.
I couldn't understand why alcohol inks wouldn't work when regular inks + rubbing alcohol DID; I was so sure it would and I wanted to offer that as an option, but it didn't work for me either when I tried.
