Today, in an effort to remind the residents of Lake Wobegone of how beautiful the peaceful, serene countryside is, 42,000 Teapotters are creating cards that depict scenes of country living. You see, Donald DeVeloper is trying to buy up all the land he can so that he can turn it into a "planned community" full of condos and lakefront properties and who knows what else?!? If it happens, the abundant beauty will be lost forever. MN yielded about 1.2 billion bushels of corn this year. Living in IL, which produced over 2 billion bushels of corn this year, I know how important the corn crops are. My scene depicts a resident among the corn filled countryside. Hope it helps the Wobegone residents remember the thrill of watching the seedlings grow to knee high by the 4th of July and from 8' to 20' high over the season. Not to mention having the most delicious corn on earth, available and ready to eat throughout the harvest!
Our cards are going to Peggy, who is a friend of Pat (Foxy67). Peggy recently had surgery and will start cancer treatments soon. We hope our cards will encourage and cheer her on and let her know we care. God bless you Peggy.
My card is also for yesterday's TLC, revisiting paper piecing. It was fun piecing the little PI girl's jacket, skirt and boots and adding a lot of die cuts to the card to create my scene.
Thank you for looking!

How cute is this!! I love her little outfit, very stylish indeed. The burlap (we call it hessian) tag looks terrific and really sets off the corn field and pumpkins. Love it all Gabby.

Love your sweet little paper pieced farm girl. You are right, it's great living in a corn belt. The stuff tastes great, is a great animal feed, provides us with cooking oil, and to top it off can be used for fuel. Great card.
