I created the background using the instructions for the TLC454 Sticky Stuff Challenge. Although it didn't turn out as I expected, I liked the rustic look it created. The background has a touch of shine (from the Crystal Effects), and I also clear embossed the compass stamp, and the fresh cuts stamp. I ran the card through an X-cuts embossing folder (Chronological) and then ran the ink pad over the entire surface. I added a few strips of washi tape, sponged and stamped some tags and decided on the birthday present with "TIME" because thought it matched the background - hence - present time!

Your background looks fabulous. I too really liked the shine that the Glossy Accents added to the card. Interesting to hear that you clear-embossed over it. I was afraid to try that in case the heat bubbled or scorched the Glossy Accents. You have a great distressed masculine look here!

So many messages hidden with in this oh so cool card! I do like the grunted look...I mean we are talking pirate ship here! The time elements, the present (time is a gift). Really great use of your embellishments
