Lydia gave us a really good challenge, only use no paper except the card base. She listed some great ideas for us to use and the one that caught me eye was chipboard! I have some awful...ugly...hideous chipboard. LOL I have had it in a drawer for years! But with the MIX challenge, it dawned on me...paint it! So I mixed one part pink dahlia with three parts lake fog and got this dusty rose color. It was looking a little flat, so I added some gesso with my fingers. The tape with the green leaves is Washi tape. I used some white lace, but added some distress ink. At first, I was going to emboss the sentiment, but my stamp slipped...OY! So I used some olive to stamp it and then added the white gel pen to the "happy". The two white wires are from small flowers where I just used the flower but kept the "stem". I wrap them around one of my small paint brushes and slide them off.
Sorry, I thought I was doing it right by not using paper for any of the embellishments or layering. But this is obviously a panel on a card base :( Next time I will read the directions more thoroughly!

Lovely! Your ugly, hideous chipboard now looks beautiful and gives me ideas on what to do with all the ugly chipboard I still have! Also love the distress ink on the lace.

How very beautiful and you were so creative to come up with this idea - the result is gorgeous. All the colours are so soft and pretty, it's got a real delicate look!

Fun groupings of "stuff"...that's what I call it when I use a bunch of stuff for a collage. This reminds me a present all wrapped up pretty for a birthday party!! I bet you do nice wrapping!!! Love all the stuff you used today, the Washi tape, lace, flowers, chipboard, button and the way you distressed the paper and lace is so cool!! Love it!!

This is great Kathleen! Pretty colors, great flower arrangement (love the little wire twistings), and I love how you made the sentiment soft. Well done. Hugz!

I'm confused. How did you not follow directions? Yours is the art project the teacher would chose for all other students to follow. Your card is sooooooo soft and extremely lovely, Kathleen!

What a beautiful distressed vintage creation, Kathleen. Painting chipboard is my way to go - so much easier than trying to cover it with paper. Yours looks just lovely in that soft pink.

Kathleen, this is so pretty - it really does look like a gorgeous present! I like the contrast of the distressed edges with the ultra feminine bouquet, and I love the background paper!
