This is for Kathleen's HYCCT1327 Honor Your Elders challenge.
I truly hope and pray your mom does well with her treatment, and that you have good days of health yourself. Thank you for this challenge Kathleen ♥
I sponged Jumbo Java around on top of the embossing and around the old car. I had an old negative from a previous die cut, so sponged browns onto the sentiment. Then I added citrine rhinestones onto the wheels and around the swirls.
The story: We were very poor growing up. My mom was a Japanese war bride so there was a lot of prejudice in the early 50s which is understandable but painful to bear. We had such a kind elderly lady who took us to town while our Army father was sent to Korea twice. On those rare occasions we got dressed up to go to a new place called McDonalds as well as a country store in Buck's County PA in early 60s, I so remember Mrs. Amy Fincke's old car, my brothers and mother being driven to town, opening those hot paper wrappers of goodness in the back seat of her car, and tasting incredibleness of the McDonald's hamburgers and french fries. Oh, my. How I remember those days. Mrs. Finke, you are long passed as well as our mother and father, but I thank you for taking us under your wing during a very difficult time in our lives.

Thank you for the very kind words for my Mom and me, Rose and thank you for playing along with my HYCCT challenge! You have made a wonderful vintage card and I can just picture you all on your way to that new place...McDonalds! Mrs. Finke sounds like a very kind and loving lady who showed you a giving heart and love. Very touching story! So glad you shared with us!!!
