This cute image from Our Daily Bread was stamped in Memento Black, then scanned so that it could be enlarged. He was printed in very light gray to tone down the black in the stamp. He is colored with copics and pencils. The burlap came from my neighbor's garage and the brads were added since gluing on burlap is not always secure. The patches all of small stitches on them and so does the "tears" in the shirt. The shoes have small laces and thread ties and the patch has a few stitches around it also.
Small enamel accents were added to the drum since it just kept looking like a paint can to me.

Another masterpiece, Nancy. Your cards have such a distinctive look due to your expert coloring and the palette that you use. I was gazing at your whole gallery and it has such a unified look(your style) because of these elements. I'm a fan...can you tell?? : )

LOVE THIS!!!
Fun little story for you. My dad is an amazing guitarist. Beautiful classical and folksy picking (no strumming). Beautiful. He always practiced in the mornings before the family was up. I was sleeping at Grandma's once (on the couch) and Dad came in to pick a tune. Grandma came out while he was practicing and when he finished, she said, "That was pretty. I like that song. What is it called?"
Dad said, "That's Little Drummer Boy."
Grandma nodded, took a sip of her coffee, and said, "I also like that other one... Rah Pump ah Pum Pum..."

Nancy, I just love this little drummer boy image. What a great job you did using the burlap and the accents on the can. And, the laces and stitches are just perfect. I remember my boys when they were little watching the Little Drummer Boy on TV every Christmas. Going to my favorites.
