This is Jake - just one of my three black labs - he's the one that gets into the most mischief. I had saved this poem from the Orvis catalog for awhile, finally got around to using it. If you live with a lovable dog, I think you'll agree that Paul Fersen perfectly expressed how we feel.
We aren't house-proud. If we were, we wouldn't abide the scratches on the door frame, the holes in the screen, the darkened shine of worn spots on the chair. We would wince at the mottled carpet and fret at the hair clinging to our clothes. We don't. If anything, we lovers of dogs are a tolerant lot, finding greater value in the unabashed affection of our friend than immaculate sofas. Shoes can be replaced, but heroic retrieves are timeless. Without dogs, our houses are cold receptacles for things. Dogs make a fire warmer with their curled presence. They wake us, greet us, protect us, and ultimately carve a place in our hearts and our history. On reflection, our lives are often referenced in parts defined by the all-too-short lives of our dogs. Paul Fersen, Orvis Assoc.

OMG! Jake is precious! I agree, bad or not! I have a bad boy myself, Rufus, and he is more rotten than my kids most days...I love your BG and use of the alphas (& monogram letter)...Very cool! Fantastic colors and your page ROCKS!
THIS could be our Tessa...she is 1/2 lab - 1/2 golden retreiver. Everything about her say "golden retreiver" with the exception of her color; she is black. She has become a master thief when it comes to gaining food from our kitchen counters. There isn't a day that goes by when I don't tell her that her sweet face is what saves her. I think I will have to copy your page idea for our sweet---but bad girl---Tessa!! Great job in all ways on this page layout.
