HYCCT1321: Inspired by Elvis. I took the song Jailhouse Rock.. I watched the video on you tube. It was in black and white. That is where I got my colors.. The bird and cage come from the song title and lyrics: You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see.... Of course I had to throw in a little color for my bird.
TLC452: Inlay die-cuts. I did an inlay for my bird with a twist. My cage, background and bird all inlaid. (flat) I die cut two black cages. One I made sure didn't cut all the way through so I could use as a backing for my smaller pieces. I cut a white bird from a piece of cs 4x3inches. I set the cage die over the cut bird and cut that. I used a small piece of scrap dp and cut a bird out of it. I took the white cage and put in back into the die and replaced the coral bird into it and cut it. Glued all the pieces back into place over the solid black cage and then inlay everything into the front of my card...SO my front is FLAT.. It took a little while to figure out how to get the bird cut correctly, but I got it done.. I used the piece of dp that I cut my bird from and made another card by cutting a white bird out and inlaying it into the dp.. That was the simple one, LOL...
CT1013: It's about time... Jailhouse Rock... Doing time...

Fabulous work, Irene! I especially like the white bird set in the pink background, but the pink bird in the cage is cute too! Great designs, my friend.

This is fabulous! Love your take on Jailhouse Rock! Am loving this new inlaid die cuts technique too - must give that a whirl when I get a chance! Thank you so much for joining in my Elvis inspired challenge for HYCCT this year.
