For quite a few years when we owned a home in the Blueridge, we'd go to Mabry Mill each fall. It's one of the most peaceful place on earth, especially in the fall. It sits right on the Blue Ridge Parkway and if you didn't know it was there you might find yourself slamming another car who has been caught unexpectedly in the beauty of the moment. For this card, I reverse masked out the center portion and sponged color around the edges, masking the white "photo edge" as well. I added clear glitter pen here and there in the pond. Brought back many good memories of afternoons there.

Gorgeous!!!! Beautiful card! I like the way you masked the center and the little leaves in the corner are a perfect embellishment! My DH and I love the Blue Ridge Pkwy! We have camped in several campgrounds over the years. Many happy memories!!!!

Wow - I had to sit and study this and I'm so glad you explained how you achieved this effect - soft, serene and so very, very beautiful - a truly unique fall card, Jean!

Wow, I have some beautiful memories of the mill as well. I love the way you made it look like a photo and used a photo corner opposite the leaves. Great card!
