For the HYCCT challenge, Misti gave us a list of many cancers and the colors that represent them. Judy chose Darlene(darlenedesign) as the FS for this week. I am more of an "inspired by" than a "CASER" and chose this CARD of Darlene's for inspiration.
This card is in memory of my mother who died all too young. Her cancer was so wide spread by the time she was operated on, all the surgeon could tell me it either was colon or ovarian cancer which started it all. So I chose colors to represent each...dark blue/teal. The lilies-of-the-valley were her favorite flowers and I thought it apropos to make it a thank you card in honor of all that she and my father gave me.

Such beautiful colors for such an awful disease! What a lovely card done in honor of your mother and a thank you to your parents. The coloring/sponging you did on this is quite amazing and since it is not my strong point I so appreciate that ability in others. This card touched my heart...

So beautiful Sallie. The lily of the valley is one of my favourite flowers too! I love the fragrance and they are so easy to grow. A lovely tribute to your mother.

Beautiful card & tribute to your Mom! Lovely image & background coloring, great framing. Lily of the valley is on of my & my Mom's favorites too, esp. it's fragrance.

Beautiful card, Sallie, and an even more beautiful and heartwarming tribute to your mother(and father). A card with this kind of meaning holds a beauty all its own.
