Anne is our new hostess over at CCEE Stampers, since we're into October already! She's asking us to use ovals in view of the the fact that opals are the gemstone for October.
I struggled a bit with this one. Originally my iris was the full centre of the oval base, but it didn't look finished, and DH suggested a fine blue border round the edge. I didn't like that, so I cut it down, layered it an embossed oval a size larger, and made a fresh front for my card base using the Faux Patina technique, and adding gold EP round the edges.

Your faux patina background is lovely, Sabrina! I struggle with that technique. The final version of the iris panel turned out perfect! The thin layer of blue makes the flower pop!

Sabrina...I just LOVE how you used dp to die cut your base fancy oval....I never really remember to do that...gives such a cool effect....this is such a beauty of a card
