Of course. I used a printmaking paper...softer type of water color paper. On some freezer paper, I laid down 3 stripes of acrylic paint. I think I used purple, red and brown for this one...(less red). Run your brayer through it several times and roll it on the gelli plate. Lay the leaf on the gelli plate and cover with paper. I rubbed the paper with my hand to make sure paint contacted all areas of print. Remove paper and leaf. The tricky part is to lay the paper back on the gelli plate in approximately the same place to pick up the image of the leaf veins...you can see I missed the mark on mine the first time, but it worked for me. Finally, I wanted to add something more, so I used some liquid acrylic gold paint, and painted directly on the leaf. I placed the leaf directly on the print to get some gold transfer. Frankly, I only own about 6 tubes of acrylic paint so I have to use the color combos I have....The instructor prefers three colors, but she also did some using only one and they were beautiful as well. I guess it depends on what you decide to print. Hope this helps.
