This is for the super-fun mixed media challenge which Lisa has lined up for the HYCCT challenge today.
I used both gesso and inks on this.
Base sponged with grey.
I gessoed an old book page with two coats of gesso.
Stamped the IO background with versamark and embossed with clear EP. Then I sponged it with pink and a hint of orange. Distressed the edges and sponged them with frayed burlap.
Stamped the coneflower over all this - and then had to add more clear EP to keep the image. I should have use Staz-On!! It was on my desk too, from the sentiment.
That was stamped on vellum, torn, and laid over the main panel.
Butterfly stamped on heatproof acetate with Versamark and embossed with white EP.
I really wanted to use this sentiment stamp on one of my HYCCT cards. It was "bequeathed" to me by sweet RavioliGirl who, this time last year, was near the end of her battle with cancer. Some of you will remember her, I am sure! Remembering you, Bev!

Oh, Sabrina. This card has so many beautiful elements. It's vintage elegance is striking. Then, I get to the end and you talk about RavioliGirl. That really got me.... It's a lovely tribute to her. Nothing could be better....
