It was Nancy's birthday yesterday, and this is the card I sent her. Hope you had a great birthday, dear friend!!!
I used a stamp set from Paper Smooches for the tree. I sponged several autumn colors of ink onto card stock and then used it to paper piece the tree top. The trunk is also paper pieced using Soft Suede card stock that I ran through my woodgrain ef and then sponged with more soft suede ink.
I used my Autumn Flower soft to add leaves to the trees and on the ground.

I must have been a stamper for too long -- first thing I thought of when I saw the tree was those Colorbox pigment ink sets with the teardrop shaped colors. LOL!
In any case, what a great idea to do the sponging separately and then use it to piece into the card. Your colors are great and I love how you enhanced the tree trunk by embossing it. Great card!

Thank you, thank you dear friend for my gorgeous b-day card. Your photo is beautiful, but I wish everyone could see IRL all the textures and beauty of this gorgeous card. I LOVED the font on the sweet sentiment too. TFS Loll and being such a special and talented friend :-)

Each time I see one of your cards I am mesmerized by your creativity. That tree trunk- I can't think of anyone but you who would have thought of doing that! What wonderful texture and love those blades of grass!
