Here is a huge chunk of my heart on paper... I love this month of HYCCT challenges and so many times when I make cards I think about the person who may receive them... this card really made me stare cancer in the face, and it was really difficult to come to grips with this stage of treatment... where so many things we equate with beauty are lost... but there is a strength and inner beauty that far outshines the external. That was what I wanted to communicate... I really hope this card will give someone courage.
For the facial features I used some stamps that I got through a class I am (slowly) taking online by Andrea Gomoll. The coloring is done with Gelatos, watercolor crayons, some inks, and watercolor pencils... a crazy mixture of whatever I could find that would work.

a masterpiece for sure. I can feel all the passion you feel for women facing difficult decisions and you have captured it so eloquently in this beautiful painting.

Dina, this is amazing... a very powerful image. It seems a contradiction in terms, but to me this shows the "beauty" of cancer. You've portrayed so many emotions, and I think this fascinating portrait will speak to everyone who sees it. This should be enlarged, framed and hung in a prominent place.

This image brought tears to my eyes and your comment really touched my soul. This card can only do the same for that special person who receives it. I love it when a card creation comes so deeply from the heart. It's what it is all about.
