This card follows my new trend of combining as many challenges as I can as I'm limiting my stamping and computer times. This one goes for Mixability-using two paints, F4A-to make a CAS card with colored bg, and the QFTD where I'm CASEing this great fall card from Queen Tina/GardenDiva's gallery. I'm going to post a separate blog post on my leaves, but basically I added drops of reinker to my clay and ended up with a color similar to silly putty (NOT what I was going for) I laid acetate diecut leaves and cut around them with a knife. I then inked the canvas bg stamp and the spatter from French Foliage with Versamark and different color inks to press patterns into the leaves. Then I used a stylus to add the veining. Today, I wet a brush slightly then put drops of reinker directly onto my brush and painted the color right onto the leaves and I gave them gloss similar to Tina's by painting them with Crystal Effects.
For my bg, I started with a piece of watercolor paper as my base. I scribbled with various Watercolor Crayon blues and then wet a brush to wash the whole paper with the "paint" I used a marker to ink my French Flair bg stamp omitting the birds and spritzed with water. I guess I hadn't cleaned the stamp the last time I used it and some red/pink came through. I took some water and blended the color in a bit. I then took Gesso as my second paint and swirled it on with a foam brush. I also imprinted the swirl image by stamping into the wet paint and pulling off a bit of Gesso. My base then was really matte and faint blue so I sponged a bit of Turquoise around the edges. My woodgrain piece was made by inking the Distressed Texturz Plate with Soft Suede and embossing the same color paper. My acorn die cut had Canvas stamped on it and was glossed with CE. I used this instead of a button and added a twine bow. I layered over a piece of Natural Trim for my ribbon. Instead of stamping my sentiment onto the base, I added a punched and sponged piece. Blog post on the bg technique with step by step photos

Really lovely Gail! I am loving your leaves!!! I popped by your blog to see how you made them, WOW! Clay!!! I don't know how long that takes to dry, but it was worth the wait! Your painting, distressing and glossing of the leaves has them looking so real! Awesome case and beautiful fall card!!!
