Did you know the proper name for a cattail is Typha latifolia? Me neither.
For this card, I placed the (Cheery Lynn) die overlapping on the fold. When I ran it through the machine, I placed the fold edge slightly over-hanging it off the plate. Then I cut another out of the blue/green cards stock and glued it to the white card. This gave it just enough stability for the front. The image was colored with Gamsol and pencils.

This is so gorgeous! wow! the blues are so pretty and I love the look you have created. I thought the die cut was attached to acetate before reading your description. tfs. added to my favs!

I'm glad to have spotted this through the favourites thread. It's so dainty and delicate.
We don't call them cattails here, but bulrushes (like Moses in the bulrushes ;-)), but I still wouldn't have known the botanical name for them.
