This is my entry for the SBSC35 this week. I FINALLY scrapbooked my craft room! Woohoo! It's been on a list of things I want to scrapbook for a long time! I really like this sketch and it worked well to scrapbook these pictures!
The journaling block reads:
This is my space. The one room in our home devoted entirely to me. I love my craft room! I am in my own little world when I am in this room. I am surrounded by many of my favorite possessions and I feel most inspired when I am in this room. This is where I capture our family history by creating art. This is where I run my Stampin' Up! business.
It took me a long time to decide what to call my room. I started to call it my studio, but that always sounded too trendy for me. I then called it my stamping room, but I did much more than just stamping in this room. I didn't want to call it my office, because that sounded to much like work. I finally just decided to call it my craft room. It's short, sweet, and to the point. I am so fortunate to have my own space!
I spend a lot of time in this room. I scrapbook almost every day. If I am not actually creating a layout, I am reading scrapbook magazines, organizing pictures, or planning Stampin' Up! workshops. My craft room is always nice and tidy, because I cannot work any other way! I always completely clean up after each project, so I can re-focus for my next project. I feel so lucky that I have a space of my very own!

BetsyZ....oh.....I just LOVE my craft island! It is actually just a kitchen island that I purchased online from kitchenislands.com. They have hundreds of styles! This island is PERFECT for scrapbooking. Perfect height (for me) for standing. It is the same height as kitchen counters. It has tons of storage space! There are two cabinets and four drawers.
I used to have a big banquet table that was my stamping table, and I had tons of plastic storage containers all over my room. I got tired of seeing all of those plastic storage containers, so now everything is stored neatly inside the island and on the bookshelves. The counter top is a perfect size for me. Sometimes it gets a little cluttered, but doesn't EVERY stamping space eventually get too much stuff on it? ;-) I have had up to five people stamping on the island at the same time, but we were all doing the same projects, and no one had thier own supplies sitting on top of the island. It would be very hard to have more than two people scrapbooking on this.
I used to be a sit-down scrapbooker, but kept finding myself standing up at my sit-down height table. (I was getting a sore back because I kept leaning down....) So, that is why I purchased the island. I have two bar stools too, so I can sit down when I need to! It is great when I have a couple of people over, because we can gather around the island, rather than sitting on the same side of a long banquet table that is pushed against a wall, know what I mean? Even if we are not stamping/scrapbooking, it is a fun gathering place just to chat about stuff!
PLUS, it sits in the center of my room, which is a great space saver, because it freed up wall space where my banquet table used to sit!
This was one of my favorite (and most fun) purchased to pick out when it came to my craft room! And, it was under $300 with free shipping! woohoo!
Thanks for asking about it! If you have other questions, let me know!!
